THE HONEY BEE’S PLEA

The honey bee in the banner at the top of this newsletter has been speaking to us for over one hundred and fourteen years. Its numbers ever diminishing, its message ever more urgent, it waits for a sleeping world to finally listen. “Now!” it says. “Wake up before it’s too late, there is no more time!”

On the Isle of Wight, off the southern coast of England, Giuglielmo Marconi built the world’s first permanent radio station. And the bees’ first warning to humanity was heard. “They are often to be seen crawling up grass stems, or up the supports of the hive, where they remain until they fall back to the earth from sheer weakness, and soon afterwards die,” wrote Augustus Imms of Christ’s College, Cambridge in 1906. Ninety percent of the bees had already vanished from the entire island. Unable to find a cause, he called it, simply, Isle of Wight disease. Swarms of healthy bees were imported from the mainland, but it was of no use: within a week the fresh bees were dying off by the thousands.

The description, more than a century later, is exactly the same. On November 19, 2019, a 5G antenna was placed 250 meters from Angela’s house in Melbourne, Australia. “I photographed the new mast going onto the cell tower,” she writes, “and the next day, I was in the driveway talking to our carpenter, and we saw bees dropping on the driveway then dying. I managed to film one trying to collect pollen, but it was hanging upside down and could not seem to make it to the centre of the flower, then it rolled off the petals to the ground.”

Today, two months later, their beautiful garden, full of old world trees and plants, is silent and barren. “We have no insects -- none,” wrote Angela last week. “Our cumquat once laden all year has no new fruit coming. No olives on the way on our olive tree so laden last year. We dug soil yesterday -- no worms either -- nothing -- all gone. I walked the dog late tonight, it was dark and a poor magpie was down the street under a street lamp hoping for a cricket I think. It was silent. I took birdseed back but the bird had gone -- it must be hungry to be out at night.”

In the midst of plenty the bees are starving to death. In 2009, Neelima Kumar, at Panjab University in India, placed cell phones in some bee hives and turned them on for ten minutes. The concentrations of glucose, cholesterol, total carbohydrates, total lipids and total proteins rose precipitously in the bees’ blood. After just ten minutes’ exposure to a cell phone, the bees were not able to digest their food, or use the oxygen they were breathing. Their metabolism had come to a standstill.

“Wake up!” say the bees.

“Wake up!” said parents with their children who assembled last Saturday at the Church on the Roundabout in Newport on the Isle of Wight to protest plans to turn their island into a Smart Island -- to bring Isle of Wight disease back to the island of its birth.

Radio waves are poison to life. They penetrate skin and bones, cell walls and mitochondria. They prevent electrons from our food from combining with the oxygen we breathe. They give us diabetes, and heart disease, and cancer. They disorient migratory birds, and they kill outright tiny forms of life that pollinate flowers and have high rates of metabolism.

In the mid-1990s, the invisible fire that Marconi had lit became a conflagration. For the first time in human history, radio waves began to be broadcast not only from tall towers scattered widely across the landscape, but from the hands of men, women and children everywhere. And in 2020 this has brought us to the brink of extinction -- not just of bees, and not just of humanity, but of all life on Earth.

I asked, in a previous newsletter, “which do we want more: our phones or our planet?” There is only one sane answer. I ask all of you who are reading this newsletter to join with me in putting this world back on a path to survival by throwing away your cell phones, now, today. Not next year, and not tomorrow. Today. There is no other option. Tomorrow we can deal, if we dare, with climate change. But if we are to have time to answer that urgent call, we must first deal with this emergency. We must extinguish this fire.

I vote for life. Do you?

SLOVENIA VOTES FOR LIFE, AT LEAST FOR NOW

Last Friday, while people in 250 cities were preparing for the first Global Day of Protest against 5G, Slovenia became the first country in the world to refuse 5G, at least temporarily, because of objections from scientists and the public. The Ministry of Public Administration had called a four-hour Public Consultation on Radiation Aspects in Ensuring the Operation of 5G Technologies. Among the speakers were Gregor Kos, president of the political party, Za zdravo družbo (For a Healthy Society), and Igor Šajn from Stavbna biologija Slovenije (Building Biology of Slovenia).

The four-hour meeting lasted six hours. The Minister for Public Administration, Rudy Medved, announced that Slovenia is officially postponing the implementation of 5G in his country “due to possible health effects of EMFs.”

On Monday, the Prime Minister of Slovenia resigned, which means that there will be new elections held, probably in April, and that 5G will be the main issue for Gregor Kos’s political party in the elections. On March 10, his party will bring in scientific experts from other countries for an all-day event on the health and environmental effects of 5G, which will take place in the Slovenia National Council (the upper house of Parliament) and will be broadcast live on national television.

60 MORE SATELLITES WERE LAUNCHED TODAY

This morning, at 9:06 a.m., SpaceX launched another 60 “Starlink” satellites, bringing the number of these satellites in low orbit around the Earth up to 240. These are already streaking photographic plates at observatories around the world, although they are not even one percent of what SpaceX is ultimately planning. SpaceX already has permission from the Federal Communications Commission to litter our night skies with 12,000 satellites, has applied for an incredible total of 42,000, and is now launching them, 60 at a time, twice a month, indefinitely into the future, unless someone puts a stop to it. If they are all launched, they will far outnumber the approximately 9,000 visible stars, and will be brighter than all but 172 of them.

This act of global vandalism threatens to put an end to astronomy, and to ruin the night sky forever for all of humanity, for migratory birds that orient themselves by the stars, and for all other creatures who enjoy life under the eternal unchanging sky.

This act of global vandalism also threatens to bring about the sudden extinction of all or most life on the surface of the Earth, as the 12,000+ satellites will be located in the Earth’s ionosphere, and will emit extremely powerful pulsating beams of radiation into it. The ionosphere is a source of high voltage, charged at all times to an average 300,000 volts. It controls the global electrical circuit which connects every living thing -- bird, animal, tree and human -- to the Earth and sky; the electrical circuit that courses through our veins, which the Chinese call qi, and the Indians call prana. An eternal circuit of life that has been gentle and unchanging for three billion years.

The Astronomers’ Appeal, called Safeguarding the Astronomical Sky, launched just a few weeks ago, already has 1,300 signatures of professional astronomers from 48 countries. They are asking for the Starlink project to be put on hold, immediately, and for all governments to abide by international treaties -- the same treaties that are invoked in the International Appeal to Stop 5G on Earth and in Space:

The Outer Space Treaty of 1967 requires that the use of outer space be conducted “so as to avoid [its] harmful contamination and also adverse changes in the environment of the Earth.”

The United Nations Guidelines for the Long-term Sustainability of Outer Space Activities (2018) requires users of outer space to address “risks to people, property, public health and the environment associated with the launch, in-orbit operation and re-entry of space objects.”

“THE INVISIBLE RAINBOW: A HISTORY OF ELECTRICITY AND LIFE”
WILL BE IN BOOKSTORES ON MARCH 2

The book that I published in hardcover on Earth Day of 2017 has been picked up by Chelsea Green, the environmental publishing house. They are publishing a paperback edition that will go on sale on March 2, 2020. It will be available in the USA and the UK from Chelsea Green, as well as from Amazon and bookstores.

I wrote this book in order to tell a history that has never been told before, and to explain to a stubborn world just what it is that makes everyone’s lights turn on, and their appliances run; what it is that we have been sending through wires and broadcasting through the air without a thought; what it is that we are holding in our hands, giving to our children to play with, and pressing against our heads. I wrote it to describe to a world in peril what life was once like, and what it could be like again -- if we wake up in time.

About 370 copies of the hardcover edition are left. They can be purchased from me until they are sold out.

5G Action Now Launches to Fight for Swift U.S. Deployment of 5G Technology

Former House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Rogers to Lead the Organization

(Washington, DC) – Former House Intelligence Committee Chairman, Rep. Mike Rogers (R-MI), will serve as Chairman of 5G Action Now, a new advocacy organization established to fight for the rapid deployment of 5G technology in the United States and raise the alarm about the importance of winning the 5G race against China. When in Congress, Rogers worked to emphasize the critical importance of 5G to America’s national and economic security, and highlighted the benefits of prioritizing this race and successfully deploying 5G before China.

“The Chinese understand how important 5G is to America’s economy, national security, and global leadership,” Rogers said. “That’s why Beijing poured massive subsidies into Huawei, worked to undercut international competition, and waged a campaign of unprecedented economic espionage to dominate 5G. It is crucial that we don’t allow China to outspend and outplay us on the 5G field.”

According to a recent study, full deployment of 5G technology by 2035 will enable $13.2 trillion of global economic output, and support 22 million jobs. At issue, today, is whether China or the United States takes the lead in deploying this technology and, therefore, reaps the economic rewards derived from dominance in this crucial arena.

The urgency of successfully rolling out 5G across the country cannot be overstated. 5G Action Now supports the Federal Communications Commission’s goal of holding an auction, this year, for the allocation of the C-band, the frequency spectrum necessary to deliver ubiquitous 5G services.
“Ensuring American leadership in 5G is not about that next killer app or faster download speeds. It is about securing and strengthening our country’s economic future,” Rogers said. “We, as a country, need to have a critical conversation about how to prioritize the race for 5G”.

Rogers added, “American innovation took us to the moon and can ensure that we surpass China in the 5G race, and permanently establish American leadership. We can do this by smartly deploying 5G technology, something the Chinese are currently focused on. It’s time for the U.S. to recognize this and move forward.”

5G Action Now is a 501(c)4 advocacy organization that works to educate members of Congress and the American people about this issue. “Leadership of 5G and its rollout is not a Republican or a Democratic issue, it’s an American issue. If we cede victory in this race to Beijing, no one wins,” Rogers said.

Exclusive: Former Rep. Mike Rogers Leads Group Calling On FCC To Move Quicker On 5G Tech

by Chris White 1.13.20

  • Former Rep. Mike Rogers joins 5G Action Now, a new group created to help convince regulators to put aside their differences and quickly develop fifth generation mobile service.
  • Rogers’ decision to head the group comes as the Department of Defense asked the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to hold off on building out such technology.
  • 5G Action Now is also hoping to convince Americans that if the U.S. government doesn’t put 5G architecture in place, then China will permanently take the lead.
Former Michigan Rep. Mike Rogers is heading up a group that is working to poke and prod the Federal Communications Commission into moving quicker on approving fifth generation development.
Rogers will serve as chairman of 5G Action Now, a newly formed group fighting to goose the FCC on 5G technology and warn Americans that China is poised to take the lead on such technology. Rogers wants the FCC and other agencies to put aside their differences aside and speed up development.
Huawei and ZTE are using Beijing as their personal piggy bank as the two telecommunications companies sprint to build out 5G, according to Rogers, who told the Daily Caller News Foundation in an exclusive interview that the free market can help get the U.S. back in the game.
“The Chinese were running around the world with suitcases of money, bribing their way into getting contracts, something we should not do in the U.S. It would have been a disaster,” said Rogers, a Republican who served as chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.
China has reportedly spent $24 billion more on wireless communications infrastructure since 2015 than the U.S. The country also built more 5G towers in a three-month span in 2017 than the U.S. did in three years.
Efforts to put the U.S. government in charge of 5G development failed because “the free market approach won the day,” he said before noting that he doesn’t blame Republicans who pushed a quasi-nationalized spectrum.

Rogers was referring to reports suggesting that there was a tug-of-war taking place over the issue. (RELATED: Here Are The Big Name Republicans Some Believe Are Pushing Congress To Nationalize 5G Buildup)
Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale, for instance, tweeted in 2019 his support for a federal role in 5G development. Republican adviser Karl Rove also pressed Congress that year to nix legislation that effectively prohibits nationalization of fifth generation development.
“I think that was done – they were tapping into the frustration of … hey this thing looks so hard. You have so many players,” Rogers said about the thinking Parscale and others were using. “We are going to lose this fight. Would it be better to do a nationalized version?”
“Thankfully the free market approach won the day,” the former Michigan lawmaker said. “I don’t think it was malicious. I don’t think there was any ill intent. I think prevailing forces won the day.”
Rogers’ comments come at a nerve-wracking time for FCC Chairman Ajit Pai.
Secretary of Defense Mark Esper urged the FCC in November to slow down on spectrum rollout, citing concerns related to “national security, civil service, and the economic benefit of the nation.” The FCC announced in April that it will auction three slices of millimeter-wave airwaves.
Esper’s problems with the rollout stem from an internal-agency squabble, Thomas Struble, a tech policy analyst at R Street, told the DCNF. “Each agency has its own mission … so it’s not uncommon for the FCC and other federal agencies to clash in spectrum policy disputes as they each try to achieve their own policy goals,” he said.
President Donald Trump, meanwhile, is gung-ho on canvassing the country in new wireless infrastructure.
“I want 5G, and even 6G, technology in the United States as soon as possible. It is far more powerful, faster, and smarter than the current standard,” Trump said in a 2019 tweet.
The holdup is having a downstream impact on wireless companies. Ligado Networks has waited a couple of years for permission to use a broad swath of wireless spectrum to build out fifth generation infrastructure. The company “can only wait so long,” Ligado CEO Doug Smith said in a June statement.
“I am not familiar with them,” Rogers said of Ligado and its struggles, adding that the company’s problems only illustrate the need to speed up the process.
“If you wait for the end of 2020 for the auction to move forward, then we are in trouble,” he concluded.

Smart Cities = Enslaved Citizens

Eagle Forum: 200 W 3rd St., Ste. 502 • Alton, IL 62002 • 618-433-8990

By Patrick M. Wood, Author of Technocracy: The Hard Road to World Order

People who have a modern smartphone normally think of 5G as nothing more than a progression from 3G and 4G. Offering fewer dropped calls, faster data transfer, and more convenience. 5G is the fifth generation of wireless technology.

This thinking barely scratches the surface. There must be a greater reason why CEOs of major cellular carriers are breaking their necks to railroad the fastest implementation in history of a new communication standard.

This reason has little to do with your personal cellphone and everything to do with the so-called Internet of Things (IoT) where all electronic devices will be connected together in real-time. Collectively, the IoT is the core technology used to implement Smart City makeovers.

“Real time” is a magical tech term. 5G is at least one order of magnitude faster than anything before it. It is comparable to everything being connected directly by fiber-optic cable where as soon as you touch the send key, your data transmission is received at the other end, faster than a blink of your eye.

Let’s do some math. 4G can transfer data at 100,000,000 bits per second (which is 10 megabits per
second). That’s really fast! However, 5G blows out the same data at 10,000,000,000 bits per second, or 10 Gbps (Gigabits per second). This is 100 times faster than 4G. Secondly, 4G has a typical “ping” factor between 10ms and 50ms (milliseconds) that measures the time needed in order to send a single packet of information. 5G drops that time to 1ms.

In spite of the cutthroat American race between wireless providers like AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile, China has declared that it intends to emerge as the global leader on 5G rollout to its own 1.4 billion citizens. China is also mass-producing the technology to sell to the rest of the world.

In the U.S., 5G is being heavily promoted by the Trump Administration. The Federal Communications Commission issued a ruling in September that blocks cities from charging higher fees for installing 5G infrastructure. Loud protests have been registered from the U.S. Conference of Mayors, the National Association of Counties, the National Governors Association and the Nation Conference of State Legislatures. Why? Because the FCC’s actions are unconstitutional and cities are being stripped of the little sovereignty they have left. Thus far, the FCC is undeterred in its position.
Smart City technology is brought to us exclusively by Big Tech corporations in the name of Technocracy and Sustainable Development. With the advent of sophisticated Artificial Intelligence (AI) programs, massive amounts of data collected from sensors of all types can be analyzed in real-time, displaying the results in a multi-dimensional model. What are sensors? Cameras, microphones, self-driving vehicles, license-plate readers, cell phones, Bluetooth devices, Smart Meters and all connected devices in Smart Homes.

Thanks to real-time connections between autonomous vehicles, road censors and central computers equipped with AI, they will be able to navigate any and all roadways with authority and impunity. They will also inform on you every inch of the way.

In China, where all of this massive surveillance is weaponized against civilians, Technocrats have implemented a Social Credit Score assigned by algorithm, to all 1.4 billion inhabitants. By 2020, China intends to have 600 million facial recognition cameras installed, or about one camera for every 4 citizens. All of them will transmit their images in real-time to central computers running sophisticated AI programs. Each person in the big-data database will have their personal data pulled from every conceivable location in the nation. By the time that they know who you are, what you are, what you do, what you think and what you intend to do, their AI algorithms will calculate and assign to you a Social Credit Score that will limit or expand whatever privileges you will have from that time on.

The Social Credit Score system is coming to America as well, unless we somehow convince our own officials that this is a horrible idea that will utterly destroy the American dream.
Nothing has changed in the 85 years since Technocracy, Inc. defined its original mission in 1938:
Technocracy is the science of social engineering, the scientific operation of the entire social mechanism to produce and distribute goods and services to the entire population.
Scoffers may argue that history does not mean anything and there is no relevance to modern times. If they understood history, they would not say such a thing. For instance, consider ‘ride-sharing’ schemes where nobody owns a vehicle and everyone shares a common pool of community owned autos. This idea is not new. Technocrats had it in their sights as early as 1934:
The Automotive Branch of Transportation would provide a network of garages at convenient places all over the country from which automobiles could be had at any hour of the night or day. No automobiles would be privately owned. When one wished to use an automobile he would merely call the garage, present his driver’s license, and a car of the type needed would be assigned to him. ‘When he was through with the car, he would return it either to the same garage or to any other garage that happened to be convenient, and surrender his Energy Certificates in payment for the cost incurred while he was using it.
I will suggest that the modern world cannot be even remotely understood except in terms of Technocracy and its inevitable outcome: Scientific Dictatorship. Every major meme in global geo-politics, economics and globalization, devolution of national sovereignty, etc., is dancing to the Technocrat drumbeat.
As to today, 5G is about to deliver the ultimate tool for total control over Americans, and it has nothing to do with your cell phones getting a speed upgrade.
